I remember Pat as a young girl when we lived at the Fort. She was a couple of years older then me so we didn't hang out together back then. Met up with her in our older years and she was the same wonderful person I remember. Her laugh came right from the gut and anyone who knew her could pick her out of a crowd. Rest in peace dear Pat.

My Mom spent her 68th birthday in the hospital, who knew it would also be her last. On my facebook this is what was written:
Life takes us through many changes like the seasons of the year
some so unforgettable,we sometimes shed a tear
I remember when I was a little girl,it seemed not long ago
my Momma would shelter me there in her arms,
a feeling I though I would never outgrow
Maybe I haven't,because hidden inside me
there's still that need to hold her
though those chances are few & far between
we live our lives looking back on memories of our past
ones we often cherish, for time moves along so fast
I remember my teenage years, rebellious as they were,
though I mad many mistakes I could always count on her.
Oh the times I'd hurt her with the hateful things I'd say,
I hope she knows how sorry I am & how much I love her today.
As children we don't realize how words can break a heart,
leave scars that last a lifetime & tear our lives apart.
Though forgiveness isn't easy, she found it through the years,
my Momma & I are closer than ever,
our love has washed away those tears.
So let me tellyou that I love you Momma,always...to the end
Though time is ever changing,I'll forever, remember when
You are my love,my heart,my soul
You are the greatest friend I'll ever know
Each day, each moment with you is so dear
In my life, this has now become so very clear
My Mom never got to read this, she passed away 8 days later. So many were right by her side when she took her last breath. Before everyone gathered at the hospital my sister & I were so very privileged to be with my Momma every waking moment of her last 3 days. Though it was the most exhausting & heart wrenching thing I've ever had to see,I wouldn't trade that time for anything in the world

A picture immediately comes to mind when I remember Pat. When we were young she would come out to the mine where we lived and she and Jackie and I would sit on top of the coal box and sing our little hearts out. I believe Pat joined us on a rendition or two of our favorite "Dark Moon". Funny how your mind races back to a moment in time. I loved her smile, I loved her laugh!

I don't remember the exact day i met your mom,but i do remember her helping david clean his house after mom passed on as well as help fill out some paper work that needed to be done . I thought that was so nice of her:)
She was always very upbeat and happy when i did see her.
She will always be remembered and never forgotten.

I spent many hours sitting around the kitchen table playing cards with Pat and Robin. We played so many different games but my favorite was Hand and Foot. I had never played with so many decks before! The Canasta I learned at home used three decks, but this game used 7. It was fun playing with Pat because we usually took on "the boys". I don't remember who won only that Pat was a great sport and never got upset whatever her cards were. We always had a lot of fun. I loved all the time I spent with her when I was growing up! RIP Pat.❤

I'm reading all of these messages saying how nice and sweet Momma Pat was (which is true of course), but my fondest memories will always be me getting a swift back handed swat across my arm when she was trying to teach me anything really, but in particular when it came to kids or crib....lol. I learned many lessons that way and am grateful for each and every one of them. I will miss that and her. I wish I could be there at this time, but know you are in my thoughts and prayers. All my love...
