George Bernard "Bernie" Passmore passed away at the University of Alberta Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at the age of 68 years.
George Bernard Passmore (Bernie) was born on March 9, 1945 in Paradise Hill, Saskatchewan and passed away on July 20, 2013 in Edmonton, Alberta. Bernie grew up on the family farm near Hillmond until he moved to Lloydminster in 1963. He married Karen Laverty in 1967 and had two children Dana and Darlis. Bernie established a solid career in real estate and started his own company, City Side Realty in Lloydminster. After 27 years in real estate, Bernie and Karen began a new business venture as dollar store owners which took them to St. Albert and Lac La Biche. They retired back to Lloydminster in 2010. Bernie was actively involved in his community sitting on several boards and committees. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. Whether playing board games with his grandkids, or boating and quading at Peck Lake, Bernie was happiest when he was surrounded by those he loved.
Bernie is survived by his wife of 46 years, Karen of Lloydminster, son Dana (Lori) Passmore of Sherwood Park, daughter Darlis (Avery) Letwinetz of Lloydminster and the apples of his eye, his four granddaughters; Kayla Passmore, Emma and Georgia Letwinetz and Sarah Taylor.
