BIOGRAPHY
LARIVIERE ~ Mrs. Gladys Marie (Souvie) LaRiviere passed away peacefully in the Dr. Cooke Extended Care Centre, Lloydminster, Alberta on Friday, April 15, 2011 at the age of 95 years.
Gladys was born March 14, 1916 to Joe and Veronica Souvie in Lloydminster.
Gladys leaves to celebrate her life, son Raymond (Margaret) LaRiviere of Edmonton; daughter Frankie (Donald) Hanson of Lloydminster; daughter-in-law Joyce Nowicki of Sherwood Park; sister-in-law Flora LaRiviere of Edmonton; eight grandchildren: eight grandchildren: David (Danielle) LaRiviere, Meagan Lehman, Tim (Tonia) LaRiviere, Chris LaRiviere, Cindy (Jamie) Johnston, Terry (Vicki) LaRiviere, Mark (Gina) Hanson, Robyn (Aaron) Canfield and fifteen great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
Gladys was predeceased by her loving husband Joseph, son Don, infant daughter Marie, infant twins Louis and Victoriene; her parents Joe and Veronica Souvie; her brothers: Dan, Fred, Charles and sisters: Mary Paquette and Jenny Souvie.
The prayer service was conducted from the McCaw Funeral Chapel, Lloydminster, Alberta on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at 7:00 P.M. with Brother Carlos Nunez officiating.
The mass of Christian burial was conducted from the St. Anthonys Roman Catholic Church, Lloydminster, Alberta on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. with Father Jan Sobkowicz officiating.
The eulogy was read by Ray LaRiviere.
The leader of song was Marlene Risling accompanied on the organ by Donna Weston.
The trumpet player was Mel Risling.
The honorary pallbearers were her great grandchildren: Adam, Joshua, Jacob and Daniel LaRiviere, Brendan and Joel Hanson, Evan, Erik and Alana Johnston, Jordan, Kelsey and Jeremy LaRiviere, Drew, Brock and Karlei Canfield.
The active pallbearers were her grandchildren: David LaRiviere, Meagan Lehman, Tim LaRiviere, Chris LaRiviere, Cindy Johnston, Terry LaRiviere, Mark Hanson and Robyn Canfield.
The interment was held in the Lloydminster City Cemetery.
McCaw Funeral Service Ltd., of Lloydminster, Alberta administered the funeral arrangements.

Our family would like to express a sincere thank you to family and friends for the love, kindness and support extended to us at this very sad time.
Thank you to Dr. Chan for taking such good care of Mom through the years. It is difficult to find the words to express our gratitude to the fantastic nurses and staff of the Dr. Cooke Extended Care Centre who have taken such wonderful care of Mom through her long stay with you. The kindness and caring that you extended to our family will never be forgotten.
Thank you to Brother Carlos Nunez and Father Jan Sobkowicz for doing the Prayer Service and Mass of Christian Burial. A special thank you to Marlene and Mel Risling and Donna Weston for the beautiful music you provided.
Thank you to the Active Pallbearers, Grandma loved you.
A heartfelt thank you to Glenn, Dave and the Staff of McCaw Funeral Service , your compassion and caring is unsurpassed.
