Obituary of Isabel Garden

GARDEN ~ Isabel Ann Garden passed away at the Dr. Cooke Extended Care Centre, Lloydminster, Alberta on Friday, September 6, 2013 at the age of 76 years. Isabel leaves to mourn her daughters, Katherine Garden and AnnMarie (Brent) Altheim; five grandchildren: Ryan and Taylor Lamontagne and James, Leah and Shannon Altheim; brother-in-law, Roy (Marilyn) Garden; nieces and nephews: Rob (Janet) Garden, Sarah and Connor Garden and Karen (Darrell) Bond; cousins: Heather (Tony) Davis, Jim (Anne-Marie) Reed and John (Nellie) Reed. Isabel was predeceased by her husband, Harry Garden; mother and father, Harold and Elizabeth Lancaster; and uncle, Roy Lancaster. The Funeral Service for Isabel was conducted from Knox Presbyterian Church in Lloydminster on Monday, September 16, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Paul DuVal officiating. Scripture was read by Eric Simpson and Brent Altheim. "The Lord's Prayer" was sung by Anne Brereton. The hymns sung "On Eagles' Wings," "Morning Has Broken" and "All Things Bright and Beautiful" were accompanied by the Grace United Church Choir and organist Irene Knowlson. The honorary pallbearers were all the people in our lives who stopped for a moment to ask how we were, to pray, to visit and to help. You made a difficult situation so much better and we will never forget. The active pallbearers were Tony Davis, Phil Kuziak, Brent Brown, Rob Weaver, Kevin Baker and John Matwek. Interment was held in the Lloydminster City Cemetery prior to the funeral service. Donations in memory of Isabel may be made to the Lloydminster SPCA, Lloydminster Homecare, Lloydminster Palliative Care or to a charity of the donor's choice. McCaw Funeral Service Ltd., of Lloydminster, Alberta administered the funeral arrangements. Card of Thanks We, the family of Isabel Garden would like to express our deepest and heartfelt thanks to everyone who took a moment to phone, donate, bring food, send a card, send flowers, or give a much needed hug. A huge thank you to the nursing staff at the Dr. Cooke as well as to the third floor nurses for the care you gave our mother. Thank you to Dr. Chan for being there and helping as much as you could, your compassion will never be forgotten. Thank you to Reverend Paul DuVal for your kind words and guidance through this difficult time. Also, thank you for reading the eulogy for AnnMarie as you read it exactly as she intended the tribute to be. Thank you to the Grace United Church Choir and Irene Knowlson for leading us in music at the funeral. A very special thank you to Anne Brereton for the beautiful solo, Mom would have loved hearing you. Thank you to Eric Simpson and Brent Altheim for the scripture readings.
