Eunice Mary Brown's Obituary
September 26, 1948 - October 17, 2013
Eunice Mary Brown of Lloydminster, AB passed away suddenly but peacefully on Oct. 17, 2013 in Ponoka, AB.
She is remembered by her daughters as someone who loved them dearly and gave to them in so many meaningful ways, and by her mother as a constant companion.
Eunice was born on September 26, 1948 in Vermillion, AB to James (Jim) Kinney and Pauline Kinney. She married Barry Brown from Lloydminster, AB and they had two daughters, Terra and Suann. With Barry's work in the oil industry, they lived in Sherwood Park and later Grand Prairie. Lloydminster was her home for the majority of her life - a place that she loved with people that she cherished.
She is survived by her father, James Kinney (Vermillion); mother, Pauline Kinney (Lloydminster); daughters Terra (New Westminster) and Suann (Kelowna) and grandchildren Chloe and Emily Nottingham and Ryder and Senna Rock; along with many extended family and close friends, including Doris Brown, Patricia Culver, Jeannie Kinney and Valerie Youngman.
Eunice had a kind heart, brilliant memory, and fun sense of humor, but at the same time a difficult path to travel in life with mental illness that just wouldn't give her a break and a mental healthcare system that is broken. She will always be remembered as a woman of strength and courage - as well, for her red rosy cheeks and lipstick.
A heart-felt thank you to Dr. Shahoo and the care team at Centennial Centre who cared for Eunice greatly before her sudden passing, as well as the many friends that she made.
Eunice wasn't much for large gatherings or receiving gifts, but she certainly enjoyed giving to others - treats, knitting and other gifts. In her memory, her daughters are arranging for a bench at Weaver Park - one of her favorite places to take her grandchildren. A small reception and interment will be held at a later date.
