Obituary of Jean Hartel

HARTEL ~ Jean Hartel passed away in the Lloydminster Hospital on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at the age of 84 years. Jean was born on June 24, 1929 in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan. Jean will be sadly missed by: five children, Harvey (Joy) Hartel of Lloydminster, Harold (Marion) Hartel of Bashaw, Helen (Dick) Galloway of Lloydminster, Heather (Dan) Volk of Edmonton and Leo Hartel of Lloydminster; eight grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren; five sisters; as well as numerous other relatives. The Funeral Service for Jean was conducted from the Knox Presbyterian Church, Lloydminster, Alberta on Monday, February 24, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. with Reverend Charlie McNeil officiating. The eulogy was given by her grandchildren. The hymns sung were, "How Great Thou Art," "Amazing Grace," Softly and Tenderly" and "Shall We Gather at The River" accompanied by organist, Eileen Yaxley. The honorary pallbearers were all those who shared in Mom's life. The active pallbearers were her grandchildren. Interment was held in the Lloydminster City Cemetery, Lloydminster, Saskatchewan McCaw Funeral Service Ltd., of Lloydminster, Alberta administered the funeral arrangements. Thank you to the Home Care nurses, care givers and staff at the Dr. Hemstock as well as the nurses on the 3rd Floor of Lloydminster Hospital.
