Please share a memory of William to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
William "Bill" Youngman Bill Youngman passed away Sunday, March 11, 2012 at the U of A Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta at the age of 63 years. Bill will be sadly missed by his loving wife Valerie; one son Donovan; one daughter Tremayne (Dean) Lychak; three grandchildren Gage, Tate, and Kallie; one sister Eleanor (Ron) Eccles and family; and all whom knew and loved him. Bill was born March 13, 1948 in Paradise Hill, Saskatchewan. He spent his early years growing up in St. Walburg, Saskatchewan and Biggar, Saskatchewan until his teenage years. The Youngman family then moved to Lloydminster where he attended high school and resided until his passing. Bill's first love was his family and spending time with them. He was active in the lives of his children and grandchildren spending countless hours teaching them to enjoy the things he loved or watching them participate in their sports and activities. He loved his time at Loon Lake, whether it was quiet time by himself or a full weekend shared with family and friends … that was his special place. Adventure and fun were always a priority for this avid outdoorsman and many hours were spent hunting, fishing, golfing and scuba diving. Just driving his boat, seadoo, snowmobile, or quad brought him much fulfillment. Winter holidays and hockey were other loves. Early years were spent attending Oiler games and then came the Junior 'A' hockey seasons. Bill was the biggest fan and dedicated supporter of the Lloydminster Blazers and present day Bobcats. Bill worked in construction as a young man and continued with this work his whole life. Bill was employed with Kohlruss brothers and they developed a great relationship. He was eager to learn and always enjoyed a challenge in his work. In 1978 he partnered with Bill Bryce and they became Bryce & Youngman Construction where the company continues to work in the Lloydminster area. Bill was a good neighbor and a good friend, always there to help you out or put a smile on your face. He was kind and generous to all he met. He will be fondly remembered for his great sense of humor, his captivating stories, and his zest for life's adventures. He was a devoted husband, a wonderful father, a very special Papa and a good man who left us all with our own special memories to cherish forever and for that we are thankful. "Those we love remain with us for love itself lives on, and cherished memories never fade because a loved one's gone. Those we love can never be more than a thought apart, for as long as there is memory, they'll live on in the heart." - Mary Alice Ramish A Celebration of Bill's life was held on Monday, March 19, 2012 at the Stockade Convention Center with Joyce Carson officiating. The service was lead by family friend, Ken Ruptash, and many special tributes were read by family and friends. Special CD music played was Everything I Own, Even Now, and Goodbye My Friend. A private family interment will take place at a later date at the Lloydminster City Cemetery.
