I am deeply saddened to learn of Jay's passing. On behalf of Carmen, Diana and Peter, I send our love and prayers to you all as you cope with this enormous loss. I new jay when I was a kid we lived close to his family's farm and I wanted to say how sad I am to here this news. He was a few years older than me and always liked to joke around and have fun. I remember watching super Dave Osborn with him and playing different games he normally won. My condolences and love to his family at this hard time.

Since I heard the news I have been thinking about what words to use to help ease the loss for you, Shonna and the girls, and Jan and Dave. I've come to the conclusion there aren't any. Jan and Dave, I want to thank you for raising one of the best people I had the honour of sharing my school years with. He was so loving and funny and charismatic and knew how to make anybody feel good. Once while in Lloyd at a gas station, I heard someone yelling my nickname. It was jay.... That was him. He would never keep driving by. So I thank you for him. Shonna. I know our meeting was brief at our 10 year reunion and I wish I would have made myself more of a fixture in Jay's and your life together so that I could have witnessed the love everyone has been telling me about. I'm taking comfort knowing that with you and your beautiful girls he had true happiness. I truly hope that you can take comfort that I really beleive he will be looking after you for the rest of your lives. His soul was too much to just dissappear.

I recently came across an inspirational note online that made me think of Jay almost immediately. " The measure of a man is in how he treats those around him that can do nothing for him." I saw this in Jay all the time and respected him very much for it. Shonna, I don't know any words to help in your time of loss, but the impact Jay has had on everyone around will be missed. Thoughts are with the entire family. John Wade. (Swade)

It is with deepest sadness that I write this. My heart has been with you for days now, and I am sad that you have to experience this Shonna. I am forever grateful for the sequence of events that led me to your house in November of 2013, as it was the only time I ever got to meet Jay. He was kind, and easy going. He was at ease with his 3 girls as he packed them up to get them out of your hair for the evening.. I love the way he looked at you Shonna. He smiled with pride, a smirk. I could tell how much he loved you. I pray you feel Jay's presence at your darkest times. Our thoughts will be with you.

I taught Jay in grades 5 and 6. He was always so full of fun and mischief and he had a perpetual smile. His laugh was infectious and he spent a lot of time entertaining us all with his good nature and his easy humour.
Jay was a popular and fun-loving guy among his friends and he will be missed.
