D'Arcy- Mary Magdalene , May 12/1922-July 4/2014
It is with great sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Mary Magdalene (Koch) D'Arcy at the Pioneer Lodge, Lloydminster at the age of 92 years.
Mary was born to Angela ( Lorenz ) and Joseph Koch on May 12, 1922 near Bodo, Alberta.
In 1928 the Koch family moved to the Cliffe District near Marsden Saskatchewan. Mary attended Cliff school completing grade 8. In 1936, her mother passed away at the age of 32, leaving Mary to become the mother figure for her younger siblings.
On Aug 11th, 1943 Mary and James D'Arcy were married in Carruthers Saskatchewan. Mary and Jim made their home on the farm in the Wells District, where they farmed for many years. Even though Mary and Jim were not blessed with their own children, all their nieces and nephews became their family. In 1990 they moved into the Southview Manor in Marsden. Devoted to each other for 60 yrs. Mary laid to rest her beloved James, November 5/2004. After enjoying life in the Manor for 20yrs, Mary made the decision to move to the Pioneer Lodge in Lloydminster Alberta. Where she enjoyed activities, and company of both old and new friends.
Mary is survived by her sisters, Bertha Klinger and Helen Weiszhaar and her brother Norbert Koch, as well as numerous nieces and nephews . Mary was predeceased by her husband James , Frank & Fran Koch, Lillian ( Cunningham) Krohn, Dorothy ( Koch) & Jack King, Teresa ( Koch) & Norman Toevs, Fred Klinger, Dave Weishaar,Clara ( Roback) Koch, Irene ( D'Arcy) & Fred Hallet, Margaret D'Arcy, Jean( D'Arcy) & George Duffee.
Prayer Vigil on July 9thand Funeral Service on Thursday, July 10th. 2014 were conducted form St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church, Lloydminster, Alberta with Father Rajappa Savariappan officiating. Internment was held at the Wycollar Cemetery, Marsden, Saskatchewan with Father Phinh Do officiating.
Throughout her life Mary enjoyed gardening, berry picking, golfing, playing scrabble, quilting , crocheting and baking Everyone looked forward to her famous cinnamon twists, and angel food cake made from scratch !
Mary will best be remembered by her family and friends for her unconditional love, faith and prayers, her smile and hugs will be missed by all.

To Joseph Koch and Jonathan Koch who delivered a heartfelt eulogy, Thanks.

A special thanks to everyone who took the time to take Mary to her doctor s appointments and outings throughout the years. Mary was always very appreciative of this along with the wonderful visits, cards and letters she received.
