I am so sorry about Arnie. Although I never knew him or Edna really well, everytime we met at family reunions, special occasions, etc. he made me feel proud that I was part of a wonderful family heritage with such a diverse range of personalities and characters. He and Edna made you feel as if you knew them closely all your life. I know his family will sorely miss him, as I missed and still miss my mother, Bernice Brocke. You just hope they are somewhere nice having a wonderful time with music and laughter and you thank God you had them in your life for as long as you did.

Dear Dear Cousins, I have been thinking about you all week and sending love and prayers. I am so very sorry for the loss of Arnold - for all our sakes. He was one of the kindest, warmest men i have ever met and gave myself and my daughter, Tina the strongest sense of connection we have ever felt to the stories that my Grandmother Olivia Brocke told us both when we were growing up. I remember the most welcoming of breakfasts the morning we stayed for Aunt Margaret's funeral and Tina will never forget meeting the baby cow who suckled her hand that day. Then there was the delicious lefse they made sure we left with! Arnold and his lovely wife Edna made every one of us feel like we had 'come home' to our roots each time I was there. We are so very sad to loose Arnie - and we send huge warm hugs to Edna, and the entire family there in Norway Valley. We love you all. Willow Brocke and Family (Calgary)

Duane and Marie and Family, We are so sorry to hear of Arnie's death. He has always been the link between all the Brocke and Barstad "kids" who left Norway Valley so long ago. He was loved by all of us and visiting he and Edna always helped to remind us of our roots and heritage as well as provide a time and place to re-connect with one another again. Arnie was an amazing man and his passing will leave a huge hole in all our hearts. Our love and thoughts are with you and your family. Love, Olive Brocke and Dusty Tucker

I am so sorry we have lost such a lovely man from our world! Norm spent so many happy years staying with you Edna, and Arnold during hunting season. It was the highlight of his year as you know, and Norm who wasn't overly expressive was expressive about how much he thought of you two. My sympathy to you and all your family. Hope to see you Thursday. Barb (Gunderson) Hotte

Dear Edna and family, I am so saddened by the news of Arnold's death. John was very fond of Arnold and greatly admired and respected him. I treasure the memories of the warm and loving hospitality he gave so generously whenever we visited. No amount of effort was spared to help friends or family, no matter the circumstance. Your family showed such lovingkindness to me and the children, and to all of John's family when we gathered to inter John's ashes at Pioneer Cemetery last year. We will be with you in spirit tomorrow and wish you blessings and strength. We will always remember Arnold as the warm loving gentleman that he was. With love and condolences, Anna Gardner (widow, John Brocke)

So sorry to hear of Arnold's passing.I always really liked him. Of my favorite people in this world, he was one of them. We had good visits whenever we met. Will miss seeing him at events in Heinsburg. The last time we saw him was in June and him & Gary visited for about an hour. Since he grew up with Gary's Mom, he had alot of stories to share. Remember all your happy memories with your Husband, Dad, Grandpa & Great-Grandpa to help you through this time. Hope to see you on Thursday. - Carolyn Fakeley

We are so sorry to hear of Arnolds passing. I have so many great memories of staying with Edna and Arnold on the farm as a kid. He was so willing and patient to us kids, getting the horses in for us to ride, showing us how to milk cows etc. Although we won't be at the service, we will be thinking of you all.
