Obituary of Andrew MacEachern

Please share a memory of Andrew to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
With heavy hearts we regret to announce the death of our only son, Andrew Michael MacEachern, who passed away on Tuesday September 30, 2014 in Edmonton, AB. Drew began his journey on this earth on July 26, 1998 in Port Hawkesbury, NS. He left Cape Breton in 2006 to move with his family to Strathmore, AB. Although miles away, Drew always kept a special spot in his heart for his friends and family in Nova Scotia. We were blessed to have Drew in our lives for 16 years and he left a huge impression with everyone he met. During his short life, Drew was involved in many sports and organizations including soccer, hockey, air cadets, MMA and most recently football. He always gave his best and was an inspiration to his friends and teammates. While on these teams, he met many great people and friends who became our Alberta family. As siblings, Drew and Ally had a special relationship. He always looked after his little sister making sure she made it to the bus, held her hand to see Santa, and lately, took her for drives for ice caps. In turn, Ally made sure he dressed appropriately, helped to keep his room neat and clean and on many an occasion was known to help Drew escape groundings. They truly had each others back. If not inventing something new in the garage with his dad, Drew could be found jumping on a trampoline with his sister, or trying a new trick on a wake board with his friends. He loved music, dancing, and almost anything that involved the outdoors. Drew's infectious smile and unique humor was shared with many. He always loved to make people laugh with his many voices and impersonations. His gentle soul will be missed by many. Our lives as we knew it will never be the same. Leaving to mourn this great loss: his parents, Rick and Melanie MacEachern; and sister Allyson of Lloydminster, AB. Drew also leaves paternal grandparents Hughie & Alice MacEachern of Craigmore, NS; maternal grandparents Mike & Jeannette Ryan of Lloydminster, AB; uncle Bob & Jen and cousins Kristen, Katelyn & Chelsea of Tantallon, NS; aunts Colleen of Halifax, NS; Stephanie & Brent of Lloydminster, SK; Carrie and cousins Dylan and Owen of Lloydminster, SK, and many extended family members who will miss Drew greatly. Drew was predeceased by his aunt Susan Ryan (3 yrs old). Drew always showed strength and determination in everything he did but really showed it to us in his final days as he tried to overcome his serious injuries sustained from an auto accident on August 30th. A huge thank you to Lloyd Rescue Squad, RCMP, Lloydminster Hospital, STARS, Stollery Children's Hospital especially all staff on 3A1. We appreciate all your professionalism. A viewing and prayer vigil for Drew will be conducted from Lloydminster Gospel Fellowship, Lloydminster, SK on Friday, October 3 from 4:00 to 9:00 PM. The Funeral Service for Drew will be conducted from St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church, Lloydminster, AB on Saturday, October 4 at 1:00 PM. "I've Got This".
