BIOGRAPHY SIMON ~ James "Jim" Stanley Simon passed away in the University of Alberta Hospital, Edmonton, Alberta on Thursday, February 17, 2011 at the age of 77 years. Jim will be sadly missed by his wife Millie; his children: Rick & Judy Simon, Wanda & Del Roes, Brenda Simon and Ken & Odette Simon; his grandchildren Deanna Simon and Ryan Simon; and by his sister Alma Soma-Tallman. Jim was predeceased by his brother Bob; his sisters Peggy Uhl, Dorothy French & Ruth Rae; his parents, and by one infant sister. The funeral service for Jim was held at Southridge Community Church, Lloydminster, Alberta on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Ken Fisher officiating. Hymns sung were "How Great Thou Art" & "I Can Only Imagine". The solos "Amazing Grace" and "Blessed Assurance" were sung by Elaine Allen and Arlene Laboucan respectively. Honorary pallbearers were all of those who shared in Jim's life. Active pallbearers were Rick Simon, Judy Simon, Wanda Roes, Del Roes, Ken Simon, Odette Simon, Deanna Simon and Ryan Simon. Interment was held in the Lloydminster City Cemetery. McCaw Funeral Service Ltd. of Lloydminster, Alberta administered the funeral arrangements. CARD OF THANKS Jim's family would like to thank: The doctors, nurses and staff at Lloydminster Hospital and University of Alberta Hospital; The Lloydminster Ambulance Service and the Air Ambulance Service; Joel McCaw and staff at McCaw Funeral Service; Pastors Ken Fisher and Brad Berkan of Southridge Community Church; Soloists Elaine Allen and Arlene Laboucan; all the people involved with preparing and serving at the luncheon and cleaning up; as well as all of our friends and family who provided love and support during this trying time. Donations in memory of Jim may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, MS Society or to a charity of the donors choice.
