I was so privileged to have Mrs. Champagne as my first teacher. Her kindness and encouragement spurred a love of knowledge & learning for me that continues to this day. She gifted each of her students with the tools to be successful and grow as individuals. We were so fortunate for this start in life and to have her as part of our community. Much love and Godspeed to you, Suzy! Thank you for everything <3

Mrs. Champagne was my teacher Grade One to Grade Four. She made learning fun and exciting; we started our days with a few songs while she played the piano, what a way to start your day! The Christmas Concerts in Rivercourse Hall were always a hit because of the dilegence from her to get those Christmas Carols and skits just right; thank goodness she was standing in the wings to coach us on when panic hit! Teachers like Mrs. Champagne are a rarity and I thank her for starting me out on my journey of knowledge; teaching me respect and most of all joy from those little moments in life . Mrs. Champagne will always be fondly remembered. She got us all through those most formative years and I thank her for teaching with such care and compassion. I will always remember that she taught me how to pronounce the first French art song I every learned called 'Plasir d'amour'. May you rest in peace Mrs. Champagne.

Dear Susie: We are so very sorry that you have left us. I was a very little girl when I first met you. Ted was a student of yours and we always treasured your presence in our lives. I remember our two girls, little at that time, being so excited to go to your home to trick or treat for Halloween. They loved it. I missed your phone call this past Christmas. Rest in peace dear Susie. You will always be remembered and have a special place in our hearts. Love Ted and Wanda. XXOO

Mrs. Champagne devoted her life to teaching the 3 Rs. She was also our mother away from home. She will always be in my heart and memories. Rest in peace.

It's hard to put into words how much of a positive effect Mrs. Champagne had on my life. I'm sure that's true for all of her former students at Rivercourse school.
