We used to visit with Helen & Ray when Gordie & Faye (Mock) lived there. Such great warm, friendly people. Then as the years passed we would meet Helen on occasion in the Lloydminster Mall and she always had that warm smile and ready for a nice visit. Helen had the true spirit of a pioneer woman. To her family and the people of the Harlan District, may your many fond memories ease your loss.

Hi, my name is "Murphy Tim" I transfered to the Harland district in 1994 and worked for Murphy Oil at this location for eight years. I became best friends with this great lady. During this time, (Iwill never forget,),I was helping Helen tag this one new born calf and the mother to this calf was about to put me into the fence. All of sudden I noticed Helen smacking this cow over the head with her cane. After this task was completed, we had a talk that maybe that's not a good idea to jump in like that! but we all know Helen loved working with her cows. Love Tim Nygaard

I was very glad that I was able to visit Helen on her birthday last summer. Jenny and I have known Helen for many years. We lived across the road for a bit and she was a great neighbor. Remember visiting with her at the Lloyd Mall. We were talking about age and she told me, "Today I'm seventy-nine, tomorrow I'll be eighty." Rest in peace, Helen.
