The family of Brian Arthur Kent are sorry to announce the passing of their dear husband, father, brother and poppa on February 28, 2015 in Vermilion, AB at the age of 83 years.
Brian was born in Islay, AB on June 27, 1931 to Art & Queenie Kent.

He also leaves his loving children: Miriam (Kerry) Doull, Kathy Kent (Art), Heather (Ian) Marr, Carol (Brad) Collyer and Robert Kent (Lisa). His wonderful grandchildren, Ryan (Erin) Doull, Cam Doull (Jaci), Bryce Pearn (Sondra), Janelle Pearn (Josh), Catherine (Brendan) Doetzel, Vanessa Marr (Darren), Logan Marr, Joel Collyer, Davis Collyer & Jill Collyer, Will Kent & Carter Kent and also great grandson, Brooks Doull.
Brian was pre-deceased by his parents, Art & Queenie Kent, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Spencer & Iva Pidcock and his grandson, Evan Doull.
Brian grew up on the farm at Irwinville, AB. His farming responsibilities started at a young age. Brian attended Irwinville school until grade 9, then lived at the dorm in Kitscoty while attending high school. Brian met the love of his life, Ella Pidcock, during his high school years and later married on August 4, 1954.
Throughout the following years Ella & Brian raised their family of five children on the family farm in the Marwayne area. He was a dedicated member of the Elks and enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing & watching baseball and camping with his family. Many happy hours were spent at dances where Brian & Ella were a pleasure to watch as they glided around the dance floor. His favorite time of year was harvest and always felt satisfied when the last field was in the bin. Brian always lit up when his grandchildren dropped in to visit & enjoyed hearing of all their activities.
We have always admired his quiet strength and cherished his warm smile and kind heart. He was very proud of his family and so very humble. He will be fondly remembered by many.
Our special thanks to Dr. Stewart-Hunter, Dr. Maulud and all the wonderful nursing & physio staff at Vermilion Health Centre for their compassionate care during Brian's illness. Thank you to McCaw Funeral Service for their kindness and understanding during this difficult time.
Memorial donations may be made to: Marwayne Fire & Rescue, Irwinville Church Fund, Irwinville Cemetery Fund or Friends of Vermilion Health Centre.
