In memory of Aunt Esther:
We were really saddened to hear of the passing away of our beloved Aunt Esther. She was very dear to us, we will miss her greatly. Despite the distance in miles between us, whenever we met together it was as if we had never been apart.
We always looked forward to hearing from her. We cherished her lovely hand written letters telling us all her news, receiving her last letter in May this year. Those letters helped to close the distance between us.
Esther was a kind and generous person with a larger than life character. We had the most wonderful time with her and Uncle Charlie when they took us on a tour of Canada. We shared so much laughter and a lot of banter along the way.
Esher will be sorely missed by ourselves but we know that she will also be greatly missed by so many people. We send our heartfelt sympathy to her much-loved daughter Esther during this sad time.
May you rest in peace Esther, with all our love:
Allan and Jean Tyrie, Warrington, UK.

Fond Memories of Aunt Esther from Charles and Hilary Tyrie in Nottingham, England
We have wonderful warm memories of Aunt Esther, who became a regular visitor to the UK with her husband Uncle Charlie and daughter Esther in the 1970’s and 1980’s when they stayed with Charlie’s brother Bill and Floss Tyrie. Her last visit to the UK was in 1996 when she stayed with us in Nottingham. We had a lot of fun with her, she was always good company, and we took her to see the Robin Hood Exhibition and the Galleries of Justice, where she gamely allowed herself to be put in the stocks, after which we went to explore the caves under the city wearing a safety helmet.
We kept in touch with letters, photographs, and news sheets with the occasional telephone call, catching her before she went to breakfast although it was teatime in England. Sadly, Aunt Esther is the last of her generation but she leaves behind fond memories and a legacy of affection for a dear aunt.
