I am saddened to hear of Hubert's death. I met him last year when my husband became a resident of the Dr. Cooke Extended Care Centre. I remember one evening in early January of this year - it was the night before the lock down. I went to say goodnight to the different people I had come to know and I ended up in your dad's room for almost an hour. We listened to some of his favourite music and he told me stories of his life. Sadly, the next time I saw him was just two weeks later, the day following my husband's death. Your dad came up to me and offered me comfort. I had a hard time returning to the Cooke to visit, but ran into your dad and some others in August in the Co-op and promised I would visit. I did so on September 21st and found him in a side room where the piano is located. We talked for almost another hour and I left, only because it was lunchtime. He talked about the day the museum honoured your ancestor...and he wished there had been tea, coffee and cookies! :-). I am so grateful to have had even these few hours of this wonderful person in my life and I shall not forget him.
