From: Phyllis Lawson [phylawson@shaw.ca] Sent: January 12, 2011 7:19 AM To: Dorothy Lowrie Subject: With Sympathy Good morning. On Monday my niece Frances (Paterson) Harder called me to say Doreen Ruth Lowrie's obituary was in the Booster Newspaper. I live in a fourplex and often bring the newspapers in, but I left it up to Jeanette, my friend from across the hall, to bring them in when she got home after work, and I hadn't picked mine up yet from the place where she places them in the hall before Frances called. I cut out the article and yesterday I put it by my computer as a reminder to write to you. One day when Frances and I were visiting a Lloydminster friend of many years, living in the same home as your Mom was, Bob, I was introduced to her. Until I read the article, I didn't known that you had grown up in the Marwayne area ... I have been in the Alliance church there when attending funerals. I didn't realize she was seven years younger than me. It is over a month now since she left. What a difference it makes when we know our loved one is with the Lord. I certainly am looking forward to going to heaven, although my only remaining sister Bonny who lives with her husband Allen Stevenson in Calgary, doesn't like me talking about it. With more health problems (although I always look very well!!) it's good to know one day I'll be there! May the Lord comfort your hearts, undertaking day by day as you go about your duties. This is the time to tell you Bob, how much I appreciate you abilities when taking a funeral. You are a marvelous pianist/organist (I used to say that music was half my life, and I recognize the abilities of folk who are musically talented). May the Lord continue to help you in your great ministry. Love and prayers, Phyllis Lawson

The world has lost a little bit of its class with the death of Doreen. During my years at Silver Birch, I grew to know and love her so much, and was honoured that she continued corresponding with me after I moved away. The evidence of wonderful 'mom-ing' and 'grandma-ing' was always clear whenever any of you were with her. Take comfort in that; she knew you all loved her so very much. She was a beautiful, gracious person and all who knew her have her footprint on their hearts. Love, Allison

Bob & Dorothy and Allan & Deb, We were so sorry to hear about your Mom's passing and offer our deepest sympathy. Over the years, no matter the occasion, the image I have of Auntie Doreen is always the same: she's smiling and laughing -- especially when she was trying to have a conversation with Sleigh-Dog. Your mom was a very special person and will be greatly missed.

Dear Bob, Dorothy, Al, & Deb .. We were so sad to hear about Auntie Doreen. She was such a gracious, generous, and gentle lady. Growing up with the Lowries' was always a ton of fun, with so many fond memories, especially around the piano when Auntie Doreen played. Wish we could be at the funeral to give you lot of hugs and love. Auntie Doreen was so proud of her family, especially her two sons and 4 precious grandchildren. We will be thinking of you on Saturday. Love Jerry & Marlene xoxo

Bob, Allan and families. I hadn't been in touch with your Mom for many years, but I have very fond memories of both your mom and dad. Your dad teased us kids every chance he got and your Mom told him to leave us alone, she saved Scamp pork chop scraps, organized my bridal shower and she was a very good friend to my Mom. She was special and is missed.
