Obituary of Allan Glen Macnab

Allan Glen Macnab passed away in the Riverside Health Complex, Turtleford, Saskatchewan on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at the age of 84 years. Allan leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Louise. Allan Glen Macnab was born on Dec. 12, 1931 to Gordon and Catherine Macnab, on the family farm east of Mervin, the youngest of a family of 11. He married Louise Morin on Aug. 15, 1955. They celebrated their 60th Anniversary last year. Allan and Louise have 6 children, Larry (Cheryl), Linda (Bruce), Stuart (Sharon), Cindy, Scott (Shelly), Neil (Brenda). Allan led a full life with varied interests and hobbies. He loved the farm life and enjoyed retirement to the fullest. He was an enthusiastic sports person, a skilled athlete himself, and loved to watch his children and grandchildren in their sports. He and mom both were avid golfers and they spent numerous hours at Mervin Golf Course as well as time in Arizona in the winters. He enjoyed travel, collecting antiques and woodworking. Most of all, dad loved having his family and friends near and his loving wife by his side. Allan is predeceased by many family members. Besides his children and their spouses, he leaves to mourn his loss 15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He is survived by his sisters Ellen McIvor and Jean Bue and his brother Charlie Macnab (Margaret) and numerous nieces and nephews. The Celebration of Life service for Allan will be conducted from the Mervin Community Center, Mervin, Saskatchewan on Friday, October 21, 2016 at 2:00 PM. The reception will be held at the Mervin Community Center following the interment. Donations in memory of Allan may be made to the Turtleford Hospital Auxiliary Fund or the Charity of Choice.
