Memories of your Mom go back to many years ago when your Dad hauled the mail. On occassion when your Mom was with him, after dropping the mail at Harlan post office , they would stop at the Eatons for a visit. We always enjoyed those visits. Sincere Sympathy

To the Lovell Family So sorry for the loss of your dear Mother, Madeline. She was an exceptionally blessed and grateful person. The memory I have of Madeline is when Denise Lively, Wanda Berg and I bowled in a league together and did we have a good time. May her character live within each of you as you grieve your loss. Auntie Madeline and her family were our neighbours for many years in Onion Lake while I was growing up and I spent many happy hours at her place. Ross Mackenzie and I learned that stealing isn't always worth it when we stole from her garden. Being very young and not knowing much about gardens we didn't know what to take. Besides Uncle Johnny was coming down the road and we were afraid of being caught. I grabbed the nearest plant, gave a heave, pulled it out the ground, then gave it to Ross and said "You carry it." Years later I found out that she had been standing at her living room window, watching all the time, having a good laugh at the pair of us trying to make our getaway with a turnip too big for us to carry. It was Aunty Madeline who provided the bike that my sister Norma and I and Jessie and Denise Vaness learned to ride on. Not being very well off we couldn't afford one ourselves, but she had an old one fixed up for us, and let us take turns riding. We enjoyed it just as much as if it had been our own, and we learned a bit about sharing. In the evenings we would go back to her house to play cards. She taught us how play Canasta, Rummy and two or three other games I have since forgotten. She was a patient teacher and although there must have been times she would have sooner been without company, not once did she tell us to go home. In later years I saw her less often, but whenever we visited, she was positive and cheerful. Her greatest interest was in her children and grandchildren and she always talked about them and their accomplishments with pride.
