Martha Mary Chisan Eulogy
Martha came into this world on April 22, 1917, at Ballinora, Saskatchewan. The 4th daughter to Jim and Minnie Mantieffel. Her mother died when she was born and the Roy Bullerwell family took her in and raised her as their own. She grew up in the Alada district, married Ernest Chisan in 1936 and then lived on the farm near Baldwinton. There they raised a family of three - Lyle born in 1942, Faye born in 1944, and Gordon born in 1945. Her family now also includes son-in-law Lyle Bie; grandchildren: Lloyd Bie, Linda Bie and partner Garry Dalgarno, Curtis Chisan and partner Sharla Ducherer, and great grandchildren: Jimmy Bie, Carter Chisan and Kendall Chisan.
In 1967 Ernest passed away and in 1968 Martha moved into Lloydminster where she lived for the next 39 years. Many of her old neighbors also moved into Lloydminster so she had many old friends around her.
Family was important to Martha. As well, she had a lifelong love of music, playing the organ and piano from a very young age. She also kept busy in the garden, growing beautiful flowers, shrubs and trees, and also vegetables.
In 2006, her youngest son Gordon passed away. This was a very stressful time in her life. Then in the fall of 2007, Martha was admitted to the Lloydminster Hospital and from there was moved to the Cut Knife Health Complex in January of 2008, where she passed away on November 27, 2010.
We will all miss our mother/grandmother/great grandmother very much.
