Our sympathies go out to Maryleen's family today and in the coming days. She was a wonderful, warm lady. Our daughter Kirstyn started taking violin lessons from Maryleen at the age of 7 or 8, and it wasn't long before my husband joined in and picked up the violin as well. It was a bit of a struggle because Maryleen played classical and Randy wanted to play fiddle, but in the end it all worked. Kirstyn played violin on Valentines Day under the encouragement of Maryleen for the Valentine fundraiser at the United Way many times and it was always amazing to go to one of the recitals or music festivals, and see the respect everyone, from the little ones to the older students, had for their teacher. Maryleen was a special lady!
