I had the pleasure of working with Paul on the Edmonton Fire Department . We started together in 1961. He left the department after 4 or 5 years to go to Lloyd to work with his brother and I stayed on until 1991. I met him a couple of times in Edmonton when he came here and saw him in Arizona a few years ago.
He was a better-than-average firefighter and we all hated to see him leave the fire service. I also worked with him at a couple of part-time jobs and one I can remember vividly was at a farm on the southwest area (now part of Edmonton). The farmer had a pig that was being confined in a corral made up of strawbales. On this particular day the farmer wanted to move the pig and the pig started to go through the bales to freedom. Paul jumped on the pigs back and all you see was straw and snow flying everywhere and it was so funny I couldn't stop from laughing and not being able to help him. The pig did end up in a better corral.
Another place we worked was at a potato farm owned by the famous Hector Gervais who was the world champion Curler.

To Kay, Dale, Lori, Dianne and families.
No amount of time prepares you for those final words, he's gone. He fought a long hard battle, he is now free of pain, and heaven has gained another angel. He was the kindest man. He always knew what to say when we needed it the most. He will thoroughly be missed. So Kay try to take things day by day and know you are not alone a lot of people truly care. Take comfort in all the memories you share of the great years you had together. No one can take memories away.
