Dear Dianne (Soleil, Sonnet and Shep) , words fail me... in sharing your loss and grief. We have all lost a leader in teaching our community: respect/honor, through hard work and integrity. William's legacy lives on strong in each of you... and many of us. He taught me how to honor/respect the position of "Coach"/leader... which is what you've all always called me (as well as a few others, I am sure). He taught his "children" (now all young adults; hard working and responsible) to do the same. With much Love, honor, respect... as well as our many prayers for continued Hope and Peace to you.

To Diane, Soleil, Sonnet and Shepherd......Your family has been in our thoughts all weekend. You are an amazing family that has tremendous values, strength, courage and love for each other. The care and devotion that William and Diane had not only for their own kids but also for the youth of Lloydminster, and the youth in NW Sask and NE Alberta was tremendous. It didn't matter what community you came from or what school you were a part of, William had a special place for you. It was a pleasure getting to know William and the rest of the family through Bishop Lloyd Lancers sports the kids played, club volleyball, and school involvement. Will miss the chats at practice, during games or the stories of Soleil, Sonnet or Shepherd winning a medal, tournament, banner, or championship in whatever activity they were involved in and how proud you were of their efforts. The Gows have done so much for the schools, community, volleyball and lives of youth. A massive loss for many people.

We were saddened to learn of the loss faced by the Gows. In meeting William I met a person dedicated to sports. More importantly though, he was dedicated to his family. He was proud of each of you individually and as a group. Shauna and I often felt that Dianne and William were perfect parents; tough when needed, consoling when supporting and loving always. Gows, please know we are praying for and thinking of each of you.

I wish to extend my sympathies to all of William's friends and family, as well as to his players and colleagues in sport, past and present.
I did not know William at all but he coached the son of a good friend, and his last tournament was at a school where I taught and coached for almost three decades. William must have been a wonderful man to have coached so many teams, and sport clearly is important to his family, based on where they want donations to go.I think of the hundreds of thousands of kilometres that coaches spend on the road to make it possible for young athletes to develop their skills and have competition experiences. I would like to thank William for making that commitment and devoting so much of his life to volleyball.

Diane, Soleil, Sonnet and Shep,
We are deeply saddened by the news of Will's passing. He was an amazing man who was so invested in other people's happiness. You could see the twinkle in his eye when he looked at you all - there was no questioning that his family meant the world to him. He was so giving of himself to the community as well; his involvement in the sports world was a testimony to the fact that he just wanted to help everyone to succeed. We all better having known him and can only aspire to be as generous in commitment as he was. We hope you find comfort from the support of all those who's lives Will touched. You are in our prayers. God Bless.

William will be greatly missed. His analytical mind always made for some great discussion and I loved how he was always thinking of ways to make every situation better. He was a very selfless man with his time, his knowledge, and his resources. Many of the young people of this town would not be where they are today without William taking a special interest in them and helping them in laying a solid foundation on which to build their future upon. The most solid foundation that he had was with his family who he was so very proud of. In conversation, a mention of Diane, Soleil, Sonnet or Shep never failed to bring a smile to his face. He will be sadly missed by many. Thinking of all of you and sending many prayers from my home to yours.
