BLAKE - Alice Loton Blake passed away peacefully in the Lloydminster Hospital, Lloydminster, SK on Saturday, Oct 2, 2010 at the age of 89 years. Alice will be sadly missed by her sons: Ron Blake (Judy Bowen) of Lloydminster, AB, Eric (Linda) Blake of Kitscoty, AB; daughters Barb (Tom) McCorkle of Berwyn, AB, Bev (Garth) Green of Okotoks, AB; nine grandchildren: Doug Blake, Kerri Caco, Brent Blake (Kenni), Treena Blake, Kristy Blake, Becky McCorkle, Tyler McCorkle, Lisa Green, and Brad Green; five great grandchildren Sean, Dominick, Dorian, Laurana and Jilian Caco; her sister Doreen (Ilston) Plant, Lloydminster, AB, her sister-in-law Jean Anthony as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Alice was predeceased by her husband Gordon, brother Tony Anthony, sister-in-law Mildred Johnston, and brother-in-law Alec Johnston. The funeral service was conducted from St. John's Anglican Church, Lloydminster, SK on Tuesday October 5 at 10:00 A.M with Reverend Michael Stonhouse officiating and Reverend Canon Don Byrt officiating. The eulogy was given by Reverend Canon Don Byrt. A tribute to Gram was read by Becky McCorkle. The hymns sung were "Amazing Grace" and "How Great Thou Art" accompanied on the organ by Pat Skinner. The St. John's Anglican Church Choir was in attendance. The active pallbearers were her grandchildren: Doug Blake, Kerri Caco, Brent Blake, Treena Blake, Kristy Blake, Lisa Green, Brad Green, Becky McCorkle and Tyler McCorkle. Interment was held in the Kitscoty Cemetery. McCaw Funeral Service Ltd., of Lloydminster AB, administered the funeral arrangements. Card of Thanks We, Alice's family, would like to thank Dr. Kerlis, nurses and staff on the 3rd floor of Lloydminster Hospital, nurses and staff of the Pioneer Lodge and the Dr. Cooke Extended Care Facility. Thanks to Reverend Michael Stonhouse, Reverend Canon Don Byrt, organist Pat Skinner, St John's Anglican Church Choir, and Becky for their part in the service. Thank you to the pallbearers, Colleen Hozack for preparing and serving the tasty lunch; also thank you for all the flowers, donations and cards received in memory of Alice. A heartfelt thanks for the gifts of food, phone calls and visits from friends. Thank you to Glenn McCaw and Staff for their professional, thoughtful and caring manner at this difficult time. The Family Donations in memory of Alice may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Dr. Cooke Extended Care Centre.
