To Aunty Heather and all of the Family over there in Canada, I offer my dearest of sympathies to you all. Uncle Rex was such a kind hearten soul who possessed a beaming smile, only worthy of such a great man as himself. Even though we are far from Lloyd and Lashburn over here in New Zealand, Rex will never be far from our thoughts. Passing your old home in Flaxmere will never be the same as I still remember the day the Simmons Clan left for Canada, just like I remember sipping Aunty Heather's soup in Lashburn, listening to Uncle Rex's tales of his adventures on the family farm at Kereru. Uncle Rex always surprised me with his long memory, and always stunned me with his sharp mind, even as he reached his twilight years. Often he would write asking for tips to help run his computer, questions that left me bewildered believing that he should be teaching computing not studying it! I remember his sadness when he left New Zealand last, and remember his sorrow when he was unable to come home to say goodbye to Nana Lida when she passed. It's a sorrow us Kiwi's feel now, when distance is shortened by computers, a hug seems out of reach. Kia Kaha. Love and Sympathy. Simon
