Obituary of Clifford Espetveidt

Clifford Ivan Espetveidt passed away at the Dr. Cooke Extended Care, Lloydminster, Alberta on Thursday, June 28 at the age of 97 years.

Cliff was born in Kincaid, Saskatchewan and moved with the family to the Bonnyville area in 1931.  He enlisted in the Canadian army in 1942 and returned home in October, 1945.  With the assistance of the Veterans Land Act, he purchased a ¼ section of land in the Marwayne area where he farmed and raised his family for 65 years.  In 2009, Cliff and Marian moved into an assisted living facility in Lloydminster.

Cliff was very active in the community.  He was a founding member of the Marwayne branch of the Canadian Legion and the Lea Park Rodeo Association and was a member of the BPOE. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, curling, gardening, berry picking, and playing cards. He had a full and enriched life.

Cliff is survived by: his wife of 76 years, Marian Elizabeth; his children, Audrey Gardiner (Don), Marie Barstad (Duane) and Connie Stone (David); his grandchildren, Craig Gardiner (Shana), Quentin Gardiner (Tanis), Kari Johnston (Chris), Lori Poitras (Wade), Arden Barstad (Tammy), Stephen Stone, Tim Stone (Christina) and Lisa Thyr; his great grandchildren, Kelly, Henry, Sarah, Maxwell,Garrett, Brett, Chandler, Samantha, Rachel, Chad, Jenna, Lee, Aiden, Elijah, Gabriel, Kathleena, Dean, Kyran and Logan.

Cliff was predeceased by: his 9 siblings.

A Celebration of Life in memory of Clifford will be conducted from the Marwayne Community Hall, Marwayne, Alberta on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at 2:00 PM.

Donations in memory of Clifford may be made to the Marwayne Legion or donor's charity of choice.
