To the Backer family: Marilyn and I are deeply saddened at the passing of our dear friend, Walter. Over the years we've spent many an hour chatting of "Old Times", be they baseball, fishing, wandering the trails of the Bronson Forest and of course our regular conversations over the wild horses of Bronson Meadows. The Bronson meadows were his favourite place to spend a morning and he continually referred to the experience as being "so peaceful and beautiful". We can't express how much we will miss his company. Good bye ol' friend !

As I leave for curling tonight, I am reminded that Mr. Backer was my first curling coach in Junior High. Still curling 48 years later. Will remember, as a shop teacher, his passion for woods and electronics. A genuinely nice man.

Dear Vivian and family

I am so thankful to have had such a wonderful father and I remember so many good times at Peck Lake.
