Your Mom babysat me for a couple of weeks when I was a little girl. I was so lonesome and she was so kind. Through the years she never changed; kind, caring, interested in everyone, witty and so much fun to visit with. What an awesome woman! My sympathy and prayers for all of you.

So sorry to hear of your loss. Always enjoyed my visits with her. The last one I had was at Aunt Hilda Peterson's. The 3 of us sat and talked and laughed, and remembered. It was such a great visit. Very few people made you feel better each and every time you ran into them. Elva was one of those unique souls that saw the good in people, lifted you up with a kind word, smile or chuckle. She was so humble, loving and proud of her family. She was just special...
Our sincere condolences to Marlene and your entire extended family.

Auntie Elva was put together in such a special way that it was hard to find anyone more special. She had the "caring of others" in her heart and never
wavered from it. There was no judgment to others, knowing that life was
sometimes hard for friends and family. What a gift she was to her children, Uncle Gordon and her extended family. She was "high up on the ladder", a jewel
that was brilliant and precious. We have lost her but not her wonderful life, full of love and kindness. I am so sorry for your loss..my heart goes out to all of the family.

I am sorry for your loss - Aunti Elva was such a special person to me too. In the early fifties I remember how my family - dad Chris Haskell, mom Leo, sister Faye & I would descend on Aunti Elva when we were in Marwayne. She always managed to whip up a lunch or expand a meal for us. Uncle Gordon would be working late in the garage across the street. There would be good food and lots of laughter. I would always try to visit Aunti Elva in Marwayne, at the lake or in Lloydminster when I returned to the family farm for annual visits over decades. Sometimes she would come for 'family' gatherings when Brother Albert was running it. She once shared that she had a weak stomach before she had children but didn't have it when she dealt with dirty diapers, etc. of her children. After they were raised, her tendency to 'gag' returned. I had the same experience. I am grateful Aunti Elva was in my life and I have wonderful memories of her sense of humour, kindness and her generosity. BIG air hug to everyone nee Patsy Haskell ..
