My Beautiful Cousin Colette, we're going to miss you so much and you've always been somebody I looked up to. I remember when we were kids and I thought you were so beautiful and always got excited when we heard we were going to see you. You left way too soon but we're grateful to have you as family, you always will be a part of us forever and I know that you're in a place filled with love, peace and our Dad's were there to welcome you with the rest of the family. Until I see you again, we all cross at some point. My heart is with everyone, this is a really difficult time but thank you for being the special woman you were, an Angel on earth too.

When Colette was 11 living a less than ideal childhood in Usk, BC she looked past a terrible violent man to his skinny, lonely, beaten down 9 year old daughter. She stood up to this man and told him to 'F'off. Ever after she called me her 'lil sis'. Ever after I called her my hero. Ever after we became a part of each other's hearts.
Through circumstances we lost touch for years but we were meant to find each other again. Once we stumbled across each other on a Burnaby bus and once shy Colette enlisted her sons to go through the phone book until she found me again.
Through her struggles, of which there were many, she remained compassionate, brave, hardworking and deserved much more than she usually got. She was very generous. She often loaned money to undeserving people, knowing she'd never be paid back if children were involved.
She loved her boys and told them what they needed to hear even if she knew they wouldn't like it.
She loved and missed living in BC but she loved Roy more and had some of her happiest years with him.
A piece of my heart is missing but we'll find each other again.
My hero, my dear friend.
Jeff, Jesse, Chris, she may be physically gone but if you need her you know her voice will always be in your heads telling you what she thinks and her arms will always be around you.
Condolences to her big, big family whom she loved so much.

It was a huge shock to hear of Colette's passing. When she and Roy made a surprise visit recently to see myself and Gary at CapitalCare Norwood in Edmonton.
Although our visit was short it was looking so positive for the future. I am well aware how things can change in the blink of an eye. Please know that she too has joined with the angels and is now pain free and rests in peace!!
As ever and always in friendship Sherlane

Deepest sympathy to Colette’s family;
One of my favorite memories of Colette is playing dice and cards. She plays a very animated game . She would put hex’s on George and really enjoyed win or lose. She always loved my homemade buns and food in general . She loved her boys her grandkids and her great grandkids. She had an obsession with cats and took very good care of them. Diabetes is and always will be a hard disease to manage. She loved Roy with all her heart .

Well . . being married to her brother, I have many, many memories of Colette.
Her lively personality would fill up the room . . . suffice it to say we will miss her terribly . . .
As more memories are expressed by others, perhaps I will add to the fun.
