BALL - Eileen Dorothy Sauder of Lloydminster, formerly of Paradise Valley, was born at Waterhole, AB (south of Fairview) on October 6, 1918, to Rev. George and Georgina Sauder. She passed away suddenly but peacefully at Lloydminster Hospital June 26, 2010 at the age of 91. Eileen will be fondly remembered by daughters Dorothy and Glen Cooper, Kitscoty; Naomi and David Broemeling, Paradise Valley; Grandchildren: Roger Broemeling, Edmonton; Brenda and Brad Rieland, Lloydminster; Sarah Broemeling, Paradise Valley, Sharlyn and Tony Graham, Kitscoty; Allan Broemeling and Candace Hosker, Edmonton; Connie and Francis Lavoie, Ft. Saskatchewan, Glenda and Ryan Armstrong, Edmonton. Great Granddaughters: Aleshia, Leah, and Caitlyn Rieland, Lloydminster, Brooke Graham, Kitscoty. Eileen was predeceased by her husband Colin in 1979, daughter Coleen in 2008 and 4 siblings, Mary Smith, Enid Hoehne, Ron Sauder and Mark Sauder. She received her teaching certificate from Camrose Normal School in 1938 and taught at several rural schools including Ridgeclough, Flowerdale, Moyerton, and others north of Edmonton. She married Colin Ball in 1943 and they farmed in the Moyerton District. After raising her family, she taught in Paradise Valley from 1968, retiring in 1979. Eileen was very involved in her church and community, helping with the Ag Society, Seniors Centre, Museum, Retired Teachers and more. She was always interested in people from all walks of life, young and old. She moved to the Dr. Hemstock Residence in 2005 and enjoyed her home there for the past 5 years. The funeral service was conducted from the Paradise Valley Hall on June 30 with Reverend Lois Burwash officiating. Interment took place in the Oxville Cemetery. McCaw Funeral Services administered the funeral arrangements. THANK YOU - The family of Eileen Ball would like to thank our relatives, friends, co-workers, and communities for your love and support. Thank you to the Paradise Valley First Responders, the ambulance attendants, Dr. Dry, the emergency and third floor hospital staff for your compassionate and gentle care. To Dr. Kerlis, the staff at the Dr. Hemstock Residence and Home Care for your dedication. Thank you to the McCaw family for your help and caring. Thank you to Lois Burwash for embracing us with your gentle strength while you also lost a friend. To Bev Haydu for fulfilling Mom's wish with the gift of your music. Thanks to the community for providing lunch following the service. The cards, flowers, donations, food, phone calls and visits were very much appreciated and comforting. Your thoughtfulness warmed our hearts and will always be remembered.
