Bill was a very kind man, when my husband Howard Finlay had past away he came by and wanted to give me some beef as he had just butcher to help out. I had never meet him before and I thought how kind but it was just me and my two young sons and we won’t be able to eat a 1/2 of beef, so I thanked him but he insisted on giving me some money to help out. He then over many years would stop by when he had butchered with liver and leave me a piece, and have a cup of tea and a nice visit then he would be off to some other neighbours to give them some liver. My second husband Dennis and I ski doo over a few times to see him and have a visit. My condolences to Bill’s family, he was a very wonderful man.

Clara, Eleanor and family, please know that so many share in your loss of Bill. You have been such dedicated caregivers and let Bill be in his home. May you rest now and take time to remember all the good memories of Bill. May God put his arms around you and you feel his compassion. Love, hugs and prayers to you. Larry and Carol Mohrbutter

Bill was our neighbor for many many years. The first time I met him I was about 10 years old and went to his place with my Dad, who was looking at some old harness and wagon wheels that he had. He gave me a pair of black leather boots to take home. He would frequently stop on the road or drive in to visit. One time in the late 1990's I was in the yard working on an old fishing boat trying to get the lights on the trailer working. Bill came by and spent at least 2 hours helping me and we got them all working. I will never forget that. I also will never forget him coming to visit my Dad when he was sick both at home and in the Hospital. He was a very quiet and kind man and I am sad he is gone. There aren't too many of the older guys from that era left in this district anymore. My prayers are with his family and friends. He was blessed to have such devoted caregivers.
