I just found out about Lyal's passing. A total shock. How terribly sad. My deepest condolences Virginia, Lyal & Rose, A.J. & David, Jon and Shelley, Stirling and Sheena, Ben & Linda and Angie and all the kids. Your Dad always had that wonderful laugh and smile. He was a great cousin and we loved to visit as much as possible when we were kids from Salmon Arm, B.C. Lyal and Bobby were always so good to us baby cousins touring us around Justamere Farms with Anton always having a pony for me to ride. And being so scared of Uncle Silver's pet bear. LOL Lyal was a wonderful man who loved his family and was someone both Danny and myself always looked up too our entire lives. Truly heartbreaking. I am so sorry for you all. And I am truly sorry that we are so far apart. Lyal will be and is missed so much already, I am sure. I will track one of you down Virginia or A.J. I promise. Many hugs and much love to you Virginia. Love from Debbie Sutherland. XO

To Virginia and Family May I offer you my deepest condolences on Lyal’s passing. Loyal was a very interesting man
When you met him for the first time,it was as though you’d known him for a life time. Lyal was the best man that I have ever met for following directions,he didn’t need a GPS,he stored the information in his head.
Not only was Lyal good for the Cattle Business, but he was good for every one that knew him. He knew and had work ethics and was able to pass it on to his family as well. He was very knowledgeable and was so easy to visit with and could discuss any subject . Manitoba, and especially the Westlake area was enriched by having Lyal and his family live among
them.
Since I first met Lyal and Virginia I have lost my spouse as well,so I truely do understand the grief that you bear.
May God give you comfort, strength and especially hope during this very difficult time. Dwight Cook.

Lyle was the last kid to ride a horse to the Lloydminster Public School, according to late and legendary teacher-principal-superintendent, Mo Price. The red school barn stood flush up to Highway 16, midway between the old brick, 3-story brick school (now City Hall) and the former Winston Churchill School on the west end of the school grounds.
Lyal was then and always will be remembered as a 'Gentle Giant' by his schoolmates, as nice as he was big for his age. He was also exceptionally fast afoot and this combination made him a star football player on the high school football team, a "60-minuter", meaning he could play the whole game, too, battling in the trenches along the line. But such hard work was another big part of Lyal that he endorsed for his whole life.
RIP, ol' school pal.
