To Deb and family, it is with heartfelt sadness that I say my goodbye to Rodney. I was privileged to have had the opportunity to share time, laughter, knowledge and friendship when my daughter became the neighbour. What good fortune to know that Rodney was close to being the Guardian Angel. Little did I realize what a diverse man he was, but that his heart was huge. It is true that amidst ordinary people, we were blessed in finding someone extraordinary. Thank you for sharing, Rodney, may the Angels always be at your side. Our condolences to Rodney's family. My thoughts of Rodney go back to Queen Elizabeth School days, when Rodney was in the same grade all through public school. Rodney was very good at gymnastics, and I remember his dad coming to show us how to do back flips, box horse, and spring board gymnastics as well as make a "bridge". We, as kids, thought this was really special and Rodney could do all of it sooo well. I also remember Rodney had big steel bolders for marbles in the snow at springtime and he was deadly with his aim. Many of my marbles went into his bag...even crystal bolders that I treasured soo much!!! I'm also sure that he was one of those pesky boys that would get into our double dutch skipping and create a huge disturbance, on purpose!! I also think he was one of the "strong men" and when a teacher needed something done, Rodney was there to help. I met up with Rodney occasionally around town and always had a brief visit. We're saddened that he has left us so early. Take care.

Rodney and Deb were my neighbours and the first people I met in Lloyd. Our over the fence chats developed into a friendship I will cherish. Rodney had a big heart and an even bigger smile. He was always so kind and willing to help in any way he could. I am saddened by his passing and my thoughts are with you Deb and the entire family.
