My deepest condolences to the Hanlon family.
I had the pleasure of working with Ernie @CNRL.
He had such a pleasant and mellow personality, you couldn’t have asked for a nicer man.
Rest In Peace Ernie, you certainly didn’t deserve your battle with ALS.
Hopefully the fish are big and plentiful in heaven!

Hello. My name is Brian Young, and I worked for Ernie when he was with Husky at Tucker and at CNRL Kirby. Ernie was great to work with- grounded, knowledgeable, and relatable through good times and challenging times. Once we had business out of the way he diverted to his real passion- fishing. I’m surprised we had any fish left in AB/SK with Ernie on the warpath. He spoke at length about the derbies he participated in and his set-up. I enjoyed the time I spent with Ernie and am sad to hear of his passing. My condolences to the family.

I am deeply saddened by the passing of my cousin Ernie. I have very fond memories of Ernie , not only as my cousin but as my Rowing Coxswain in Royal St. John's Regatta. Ernie bought us to victory , in the midst of a very foggy day, and what a celebration we had. Rowing is certainly in the blood of the Hanlon Family and it continues today. Ernie will be sadly missed, however; many fond memories will live on. May you rest in peace . On behalf of all the HANLON FAMILY in St. Johns, Nl.,.. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of you during this most difficult time. .
GAIL HANLON-McGETTIGAN

My deepest sympthay to your family and friends, Ernie. I pray peace and joyful memories be with all of them and may you find rest now.

I was so very sad to hear that Ernie lost his battle with ALS he will be deeply missed, I spent many a hour fishing in the Golden Walleye Tournament at both Moose Lake and Lesser Slave Lake and the gleam in his eyes when we had a fish on was truly amazing. Rest in Peace my friend.
