I hope when I have bad days or exciting news that I never stop reaching for my phone thinking I am going to call Les.
Because every time as I pull my arm away from my phone, my shoulders hunch forward and I deeply sign. My gaze falls to the floor. I turn away from anyone in the room because eye contact accelerates my emotions and my eyes will be welling up… that’s when I swear I hear Les’ chipper voice greeting me “my girl!?”& it wasn’t “how’s my girl?” But just “my girl”. And “hearing” that is irreplaceable.
I can proudly say that I was blessed with the most genuine, loyal, considerate, respectful, serious, silly, uplifting and adventurous best friend one could ask for.
Have water boiling when I get up there. We’re due for a KD picnic & there’s a ton of new songs for two steppin. :)
