It is 2 years now and our family and I miss you every day. We all feel the loss in the room when we are together but also celebrate you in all our memories we have with you. I am grateful from the core of my being for the life I shared with you and some days I feel so sad that our kids and grandkids are missing their Dad and Special G’pa. Fern and all the Valette family,
Wayne and I are saddened to hear of Maurice’s passing. Although I haven’t seen Maurice in years I reflect back to our younger years when we were a bunch of partying kids from the north side of the tracks having a great time enjoying life. As I read about Maurice it is evident that he was a great husband, father and grandfather and a person I was lucky enough to call a friend.

Oh Fern, we're so sad for you and the kids. Maurice was such a special, kind and gentle man. We will especially cherish the memories of the time spent in Guayabitos a few years ago. I remember Maurice chasing Mexican musicians down so they could play for you at the beach club. Our hearts are heavy even though we know he's no longer suffering. It is a sad sad time and my heart breaks for all of us that loved Maurice but especially his dear family. Maurice will always be remembered for his giving heart. He gave of his time and talent whenever called upon.
On one particular camping trip, Uncle Maurice took Tristan fishing with him and let him use his favourite rod and he caught his first fish. He was so happy and then he somehow fell off the boat with his uncle’s favourite rod of course dropping it into the deep. Maurice laughed and they pulled Tristan back onto the boat thinking it was gone forever. A little while later Shane catches something on the end of his hook and reels Maurice’s fishing rod back to the boat. They return to camp with all men on board and fish to fry with stories to tell.
We are sure going to miss you but we will never forget you.
