Dear Kelly, France and Trent,
Our deepest heartfelt thoughts accompany you and the family at this sad time. So many good memories come to mind when I think of your Dad. A couple of these were from the last time he and Claudette made it out to Montréal as a brother-sister project. Thank you Gilles for your kind heart and incredible sense of humour.
Sincerely, Joël and Michel

Sincere condolences to France, Kelly, Trent, and family. Cherish all the great memories. Uncle Gilles's laugh will never be forgotten. A memory I have is when he would solve his assortment of 3D wooden puzzle brain teasers after I tried so hard to do the same, he would solve it again, look up at me and laugh his hearty laugh at my dumbfounded look. Rest In Peace ❤️

Many memories of times sharing meals and laughs with the Allard family during highschool years and after.
Lots of laughs shared with Gilles and others in Vic's shop, watching those guys develop their Worm Farms and various other projects.
Enjoyed Gilles company and his Joie de Vivre along with his infectious laugh.
Knowing that Gilles will be sorely missed by my friends Kelly, France, Trent and their families, I pass my sincerest condolences to you all.

In Memory of Gilles,
I've never had such a wonderful time with my brother Gilles as on our trip down East together. Once in Montreal our goal was to get together with all the Allards. We had such a great time to see everyone! Then off to the north of Montreal, where Joel's and Michel's chalet at Proctor Lake is at a ready to welcome anyone. Gilles so enjoyed that stay, in ways that no one can imagine, except to say, that he so called it the “little paradise!” How true that is...memories that will always forever be so close to my heart. From there, off to Moncton, N.B., to see Real and Catalina and their beautiful family. It was a joy to see each and everyone. Gilles and I were welcomed with open arms, for a stay in their beautiful home and were catered to like a King and Queen. During our stay, Real was our taxi driver along with Catalina, and toured us to awesome views along the way. To name a few, Fredericton, across the beautiful bridge to Prince Edward Island and into Nova Scotia. So much more that I could add. All beautiful souvenirs! With a grin on his face and a chuckel, one knew he had a joke up his sleeve to tell. Love you Gilles, you will truly be missed. Your sister Claudette

A moment to say goodbye to a special man. On the afternoon of Wednesday May 27, my Dad passed gently, peacefully, without pain. I will forever be grateful that I was at his side as he took his final breath.
I do find comfort and I’m more than confident, knowing that Dad will live on in us through our special memories and through the love he has planted within us.
Rest In Peace Dad! Give Mom a big hug and I will see you on the other side.❤️
I would like to Thank the Lloydminster Continue Care home for the excellent care they gave to my Dad in his final years.
I am overwhelmingly grateful for the McCaw Family and staff. Their support and professionalism is second to none.
Services from Deacon M. Hall, your words and guidance was a blessing. Family and friends Thankyou for your amazing support and condolences.
As funeral services were limited to ten people, it was arranged to have the service filmed (Thankyou Jason Whiting).
A video of his service will soon be available for viewing.
Thankyou
France

EULOGY
Welcome everyone .
My name is Jackson McGee.
Gilles Allard was my Father in Law, my Neighbor and my friend.
He was born on July 14, 1941 in Gravelbourg Saskatchewan.
The second of 3 children. REAL, GILLES AND CLAUDETTE.
He grew up on the farm, loving his dogs and horses.
Growing up in a musical household rubbed off and he learned to play the drums and joined musical groups as a young man. Even recording several tunes under the name “THE COMBOS”.
He took his schooling in Gravelbourg and then worked away from home where he met his future wife June. As a couple they returned to Gravelbourg working as a trainer for the race horses that his grandfather owned. He loved the life and was passionate about it but there was considerable travel involved so gave it up to raise a family.
Kelly , France and Trent .
He became a welder in Regina. He was hired by all steel erectors and along with Ivan Findlay he did high tower installations throughout western Canada.
Later he bought a semi truck and was a long haul trucker for several years.
The family relocated back to Gravelbourg when he took over the family farm in 1975.
Over the next 20 years he was growing wheat , peas and sunflowers to name a few crops. These years solidified many great friendships that have lasted and stood the test of time. The Barons , Gauthiers, Dorais and others. Working together, enjoying hobbies and fellowship .
I met France in 1983 and we were married in 1990.
That was when Gilles became my FATHER IN LAW.
When Gilles and June retired from farming In 1995 they decided to move to the Lloydminster. Our daughters Karlee and Lani were already born when they moved to Lloydminster and Madison the next year in 1996.
They were not sure what they wanted to buy so they rented an apartment for a few months to get the lay of the land. A house came up for sale on our block and they noticed the sign .
That was when Gilles became my NEIGHBOUR.
Over the next years we enjoyed many happy occasions, and many meals together. Gilles enjoyed my BBQ and a cold one many times.
This was when he became my FRIEND .
We both had a lot in common. An enjoyment of Woodworking, automobiles and antiques. He spent many hours working with me creating whatever June and France had schemed up .
As close as living 2 houses apart made us, nothing was a bigger bonding factor than when we bought Cabin 31 at Sandy beach. The renovation of that little cabin was the best thing that happened to our family. Gilles was the guiding hand on all the early work that took place to renovate it. He would do all the reconnaissance work during the day then we would head out after I was off work to build decks or drill wells or shingle the roof or lay flooring. Weekends at the cabin would see Gilles up first. I would wake up to him at the table with the kids on his lap while he had his coffee and rolled his own cigarettes .
Or as the kids said “ROLLIN MOKES WITH GAMPA”.
He was well read on most subjects and if something peaked his interest he would research the subject until he was an expert. Take his wood carving for example. The prolific amount of intricate work he did in a short time can attest to that.
The kids had Grandpa to walk them to school every morning. Later on he was available for endless rides picking up the kids from work or swimming or the mall.
Karlee our oldest daughter is Currently in Australia and one of her earliest memories of Grandpa as a child is the story he would tell her every spring when fighting ants.
‘Gramps would tell me that he discovered a special trick for getting rid of the ants in his back yard.
He said you have to shake some pepper on top of the ants nest, where the ants come in and out.
He asked me if I could guess why this worked.
I always replied ”No, tell me!”
Gramps continued by saying that the little ants would come out to the top of the ant hill and sniff the pepper and start to sneeze.
When the ants would sneeze they would hit their little heads on the ground because their legs we're so short it would knock them out!
He would always finish the story with a big fake sneeze. It cracked me up every time.’
There have been countless great times together with Gilles and June at the Farm, at the cabin, on road trips, and holidays. France has always said her proudest memories of her dad were seeing him as a grandfather. A role he loved and cherished .
We lost June in 2008. It’s been 12 years but the two are together again.
Goodbye my friend .
