Buddy will be sadly missed by her children: Jim and Judy Sellers of Cobble Hill, Vancouver Island, Rod and Pat Sellers of Lloydminster, Alberta; three grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; sister-in-law Thelma King as well as several other relatives. In Honor of Alberta (Buddy) Doris Sellers Born November 22, 1918 Passed Away June 1 2010 At the Dr. Cooke Extended Care Home Lloydminster, Alberta at the age of 91 years. A Memorial service was held at the Grace United Church, Lloydminster, Alberta on June 9, 2010. The service was conducted by Reverend Sue Hertell. The Eulogy was given by Rod Sellers. The organist was Irene Knowlson and Hymns and singing were by the United Church Choir. Special Music by John Jacob playing viola and Cora Sellers singing Over The Rainbow . The Nurses Honor Guard attended in full uniform. Interment followed the Memorial Service at the Lloydminster Cemetery. __________ Alberta (Buddy) Doris Sellers Was predeceased by her father Charles Hunter, her Mother Evelyn Carlson her stepfather Henry Carlson, one sister Eileen Caswell. One grandson Ivan Sellers and her husband Jim Sellers. Buddy leaves to mourn her two sons Jim Sellers and Judy, Rod Sellers and Pat Grandchildren Cora Gajari and Otto, Sarah Sellers and Ally and Mat Sellers and many great grand children and great, great grandchildren. Buddy was born in Success Saskatchewan near Swift Current Buddy completed her registered nursing training in 1940 under the Grey Nuns at Edmonton General Hospital and then nursed in Cold Lake, Calgary, Wainwright, Vancouver and then Lloydminster Municipal Hospital, Dr. Cooke Extended Care as Director of Nursing and the Lloydminster Auxiliary Hospital Buddy married Jim Sellers in 1942 after meeting in Cold Lake, Buddy and Jim eventually settled back in Jims hometown of Lloydminster where they raised two sons Jim jr. and Rod. The family would like to thank Moms many friends and colleges who supported her through her many years. Thank you to Dr Tom Cavanaugh and the entire team at the Dr. Cooke who cared for Mom so well! Thank you to the McCaw family for their kind and professional service. Thank you to all the United Church and the Legacy Center folks for their wonderful help. Buddy loved her family and her many friends as well as her community which she enjoyed serving for many years. We will miss her! Donations in memory of Buddy may be made to the Dr. Cooke Patient Comfort Fund.
