Please share a memory of Morley to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

John Morley Cole passed away at the Dr. Cooke Extended Care Centre, Lloydminster, Alberta on Friday,  October 16, 2020 at the age of 89 years.

Morley was born in Rosetown, Saskatchewan on May 14, 1931.

Morley graduated from Agriculture at the University of Saskatchewan. He put himself through university by driving cab. Upon graduating, he began farming in the Demaine, Saskatchewan area. It was here that Morley met his wife Jean (Brown). They were married in 1954. Morley and Jean decided to move to the Lloydminster area in 1961. They bought land south of Blackfoot. They operated a mixed farm that over the years included cattle, pigs, chickens, sheep, horses and grainland.

Morley was involved with the community as a 4H Leader, a municipal councilor, a member of the Clinic and school boards and, when he got his pilot's license, the Flying Club.
Morley was never afraid to reinvent himself. He was always learning and earned certificates in bookkeeping, electronics and computers.

In 1976 Morley and Jean moved to the Devonia Lake area. It was here that he and Jean raised pure bred Morgan horses under the name Border Town Morgans and ran Cole Trucking for several years, all the while continuing to always have some cattle on the place.

Morley and Jean held a farm auction and moved to Lloydminster in 2009.
