Obituary of Thelma Mantieffel

Thelma Alice Mantieffel passed away at the Lloydminster Hospital, Lloydminster, Saskatchewan on Sunday, November 22, 2020 at the age of 94 years.

Thelma was born December 5, 1925 in Baldwinton to parents, Hans and Kathryn Thompson. She grew up on a farm and continued her farm life raising four children, Dwight,  Ron,  Carol (predeceased) and Gwen.  She enjoyed 10 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. 

She was a beautiful quilter and spent many hours perfecting her craft. All children have at least one quilt. Thelma also was a very good seamstress making many of her clothes and for children of all ages. 

With her husband, Ernest, they retired in Lloydminster where they enjoyed summer camping, fishing and playing cards. She loved her winter holidays in tropical destinations with her two daughters. 

Her farming roots stayed with her. You could always find her at one of her grandchildren’s farm at harvest. 

She will be dearly missed. 

A private family service in memory of Thelma will be held. 

Donations in memory of Thelma may be made to RM of Hillsdale (Baldwinton Cemetery) or Grace United Church.
