Obituary of Derry Heathcote

Please share a memory of Derry to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Derry Lon Heathcote passed away at his residence in Marwayne, Alberta, March 2, 2021 at the age of 73 years.

Derry was born in 1947, the 3rd of 4 children of Eric & Clara Heathcote. Derry married Bev in 1966.

Derry had a passion for living life to the fullest and was always wanting to be out doing something. One of his favorite things to do was grab some drinks, some guns and go gopher hunting or skeet shooting.

Political correctness was unknown to him; you always knew were you stood.

Derry had very little formal education but he never let that stop him from succeeding in life.  He built a construction company from the ground up, and was also a 3rd generation farmer/rancher.

Bev and Derry were married for 54 years. They had 3 sons, 3 granddaughters, 4 grandsons, and 2 great grandsons.

Derry is survived by: his loving wife of 54 years, Bev Heathcote; son, Morrey (Bonnie) Heathcote and their family, daughter, Courtney (Shawn) Olson and their son, Damon; daughter, Stephanie Heathcote (Jeremy Thompson) and their son, Michael Thompson; sons, Ryley Heathcote and Brady Heathcote; son, Tyler (Cathy) Heathcote; son, Clint Heathcote and his children, Deric, Zackary and Katrina; brother, Donnie (Diane) Heathcote; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Derry is predeceased by: his parents, Eric & Clara Heathcote; sisters, Gail Dustow and Marilyn (Roy) Jackson.

A Graveside Service for Derry will be held at a later date.
