I was fortunate to be a very good friend of Walter. Walter to me was a very special person. Words that come to mind when I think of Walter are ... kind, humble, caring, helpful, energetic, strong, fit and fun.
We certainly shared many a laugh and had many a pop in our times together.
Walter always put other people first and was always willing to be helpful in away he could.
Walter and Tom Harbin came down to Allan, SK to help build an addition to our house. When our car quit on a cold February night miles from our destination of Walter's farmhouse near Hillmond ,SK. , Walter came to pick us up and drove us home to his farmhouse. The next day Walter did the repairs on the vehicle to have it running again.

used lots when we worked together at Thorpe Centre was “tears are spiritual rain” and I still use this today working at Thorpe.

Sincere Regards to Marion and Extended Family, - Thank All of You for sharing Your Walter so freely. I have had the gift and privilege of knowing Walter for a number of years now. His kind ways and down to earth reality were more than evident. I initially met Walter as we both worked at the Thorpe Recovery Centre. He gave true meaning to the term “Gentleman” as he was in my opinion, a gentle man. God has an aftercare plan in mind for Walter that is beyond what can even comprehend- sorry to hear of His passing, but extremely hopeful for where God is taking Him. Loving Condolences. Sorry to hear of Walter's passing. He was a joy to know. We rented young bulls off him when we started farming. He was encouraging to our family in our music ministry.
