Obituary of Evelyn Tuplin

Please share a memory of Evelyn to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Evelyn May Tuplin (nee Weston) at the Revera Aspen Lodge, Red Deer, AB on Friday June 18, 2021 at the age of 95 years. Evelyn will be forever remembered by her family and friends as a beautiful and caring spirit.

Evelyn is survived by: three children, Karen (Ken) Matisz of Red Deer, AB, Bonnie (Gary) Rogers of Oliver, BC and Brian (Lisa) Tuplin of Calgary, AB; seven grandchildren, Annette Matisz, Tamara (Russell) Seifreid, Jonathan Rogers, Shaina (Brandon) Fuson, Melissa, Christopher and Stephanie Tuplin; four great-grandchildren, Gaeryn, Toria, Bergen Seifried and Isaac Fuson; one sister, Lois Spence of Regina, SK; one sister-in-law, Joyce Weston of Maidstone, SK; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Evelyn was predeceased by: her loving husband, Frank; her parents, Joseph and Elizabeth Weston; one infant daughter, Beverly Lynn; brother, Keith Weston; brother-in-law, Richard Spence; one infant grandson, Garrett Rogers; three nephews and three nieces.

Evelyn was born May 1, 1926 in Maidstone, SK. She lived in Lloydminster, SK from 1956 to 2015 before moving to Red Deer, AB to be closer to her adult children.

Evelyn’s life was devoted to family, friends, the Lloydminster United Church and the United Church Women (UCW). She enjoyed many years of travel with her husband Frank, sometimes out-of-country but most often traveling with their travel trailer. In this way, they visited family and friends across Western Canada, keeping the family ties fresh and enjoying visits with friends.

Evelyn lived the fruits of the spirit (Galatians 5:22) expressing love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. By her example, she provided a safe and loving environment for all she met in her life’s journey.

A private family visitation and remembrance was held at the Red Deer Funeral Home on June 26, 2021.

A future memorial will be held in Lloydminster, followed by a family internment ceremony at the Maidstone Cemetery. This may be delayed until 2022 due to current circumstances.

The family of the late Evelyn Tuplin would like to sincerely thank the staff of the Revera Aspen Ridge Retirement Resident for the love and care given to our dear Evelyn over the last six years.

Donations in memory of Evelyn Tuplin may be made to the Alberta Cancer Foundation, Heart & Stroke Foundation or to the donor's charity of choice.
