Susan and Family,
Our condolences to all of you. I have many memories working, playing hockey and slow pitch with Courtney. In fact we started at Husky the same day, June 15, 1970. I recall Courtney made it clear to those of us he worked with that he saw himself going back to Calgary when the opportunity presented itself but after a few years had decided Lloydminster was home.
We always had something to debate , him being a Stampeder fan, and me being a Roughrider fan. Those things never changed.
May you rest in peace Courtney.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.

Our memories of Courtney are ingrained in our minds. Such a big guy, such a gentle soul. Times spent in the rink over the years with hockey in common.. Initially with our sons, and then with our grandkids. Always a big laugh and a big smile when our paths crossed.
His love and pride in his children and grandchildren was front and Center in every conversation.
He touched so many lives in many wonderful ways. We’re certain as soon as he arrived up above that a sports event is being organized and he’s the head coach and cheerleader.
Our heartfelt sympathy to you Susan, Blake, Lance, Shane, and families.
He has fought the hard fight, and it’s time for him to rest.
Always in our hearts. Ellen Parsons and family

My deepest condolences to all. What a great guy Big C was. Back in the days we had so much fun camping, dancing, company parties, grey cup parties and Friday night parties. Can't forget our great trip to Waskesui Lake. So many memories. Susan cherish the memories you hold the laughs you shared and the great family times. Your video of the Back Yard Service was awesome. Take care.

Dear Susan and family,
Our sincere condolences to each of you. May your memories bring you peace and may his enduring love for you carry you through life. Courtney coached our son in hockey for several years. Never was there a team with a more enthusiastic and prepared coach! He had an endless supply of ideas to encourage his players and his dedication to the team was second to none. His carefully planned practices were legendary. Not only was he a great coach but Courtney was a very kind man whose pride in his family was obvious to everyone.
Sincerely,
Ken and Barb Wiebe

Where do I begin??
Jeremy and I have been fortunate enough to call Courtney and Susan neighbors since 2006. Our three kids have known Big C all of their lives...our youngest definitely had a soft spot for Courtney and I think it went both ways. Our 6 foot fence never kept Courtney from peering over at them and giving them a scare once in awhile...they loved it.
I will miss our chats....a quick "how are you" could easily become a 40 minute visit and I loved it. Courtney was and always will be his grandkids biggest fan...literally and figuratively. I will miss seeing you at the rink watching hockey and lacrosse, even when your boys were already done. You made the time to watch our kids too. It meant the world to them, and to us.
You knew it was yard season once Courtney lost his shirt in the backyard...the man had a great tan LOL. His yard was and is beautiful and he loved puttering around. He put us to shame when he planted his trees on the public side of his fence...our attempts never made it past 2 months.
I like to think I "almost" had him bleeding green. One of my last driveway visits was just after the CFL started this season. I asked Courtney how he liked his Stamps new jerseys, and his exact words were "Bunch of clowns". I told him we would welcome him to OUR side anytime and all he did was chuckle. Well MY team is now in that "bunch of clowns" category. The Stamps won big for you Saturday Courtney!
Rest easy, big guy. Your family will be taken care of.
Sincere sympathy to you all....Susan we are here no matter what you need.
Love,
Tanya, Jeremy, Jenna, Jayden & Ryder Plamondon

Courtney was larger than life literally and figuratively! He will be missed!
I had the privilege of working with Courtney for about 20 years. I have many fond memories of Courtney, but one of my favorites is our discussing starting a co-ed flag football team. His reputation as a fearless competitor proceeded him so I was not sure what a co-ed sport with Courtney would look like. It turned out to be great and a lot of fun. I ran a pretty good out but it didn't stop Courtney from yelling at me (not often) and others to run a square corner. I was expecting him to bring a right angle to illustrate. It honestly wouldn't have been a surprise considering the playbook (he had two) he brought to every game. He earned the nickname G.B. from me after he lamented about how a girl ran by him and he didn't tackle her. He said we all may as well call him Gentle Ben. From that moment on I would tease him about his softer side and a great friendship was born.
Coffee time at work, he talked mostly of his family and how proud he was of all of them. Over the 20 years we worked together, Courtney took pride in talking about Susan and their boys through to talking about going to games to watch the grandkids.
Our condolences to you Susan and your family. May your memories of Courtney warm your heart and get you through these saddest of times. Sending you warm hugs and love.
Sherry and Dale Crossman
