Andy became my very best friend in the past few years. I had a wreck in northern alberta and he dropped everything where he was and drove to me and helped deal with the situation, and then drove me and all my stuff back to my home in Vernon. Since then we talked every week about everything. I will miss him so much.

Andy would bring little toys for kids when he had gone on one of his many trips! He bought a doll once as big as my anna when she was a bit smaller! He would bring bird whistles and checker games. He always told stories of things he’d see of places or people. Andy and Evelyn taught my boys to play chess ♟ which they still play with much joy and skill today!
We will all miss him dearly. But we are confident he is in a better place!

Memories of Andy:
Once memory that I will always hold close of Andy is when I was young and attempting to learn Japanese and I had learnt that Moshi Moshi meant hello in Japanese and told Andy. He thought it was hilarious and would repeat Moshi Moshi to me for years in one of his fun Andy accents and together we would laugh.
Andy always did anything to put a smile on our faces; whether it was a story, an accent or a hand gesture. He always turned everything into a joke to get a reaction from us. Marissa Wallgren

Some of my favorite memories as a kid were with Andy. He always had a joke on the tip of his tongue or an impression ready to make me laugh. I will always remember arriving at Oma and Andys walking in the door and getting a big hug from both of them then immediately Andy would show me the case of .22 shells that he had picked up to get us through the weekend in gopher paradise. He let me drive in the field at every chance I could get and taught me the in and outs of gun safety. The best lesson I got in gun safety was watching Andy somehow shoot a hole through the mirror of the pickup while resting his .22 on the door. He still made the shot and after a bit of cussing we laughed for hours at his expense. I never let him live that shot down. Andy had a big impact in my development as a young kid and I will miss him greatly.

Andy had a special place in all of his grandkids hearts that will never be forgotten. He loved to have fun and always found a way to light up a room whether it be playing loud music, breaking out in a dance, or making his own music using spoons and other household items. He had a great sense of humor and was always looking for any way to make us all laugh which always seemed to be a success. We will all miss him so much but are beyond grateful for all of the great memories we were able to share and although we grieve, we also celebrate Andy no longer being in pain and look forward to meeting him again in eternity. I am so shocked, he was one of my very best friends, and we had so many good times and talked every week. So many laughs. We drove bus together and he made it fun every day. If you had Andy as a friend you had a friend for life because he knew how to forgive and start again if you ever had a tussle, we did that a lot too. He sure had a gift for driving, and was really happy and calm when he was behind the wheel. I hope they have some big rigs in heaven or he wont know what to do.
