In Loving Memory of Julie April

It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories that the family of Julie (Juliette) (Hugette) April of Lac La Biche, formerly of Lloydminster, announce her peaceful passing on Tuesday January 25, 2022, at the age of 88 years.

Julie was born in Lac Drolet, Quebec to Charles Leblanc and Marie Merier on June 6, 1933.

Julie is lovingly survived by her son John (Sherry Wentworth) April of Lashburn, SK and daughter Lisa (Trevor) Funk of Lac La Biche; grandchildren: Janelle April, Jeremy April, Rachelle April, Stephanie April, Daniel April, Chelsea April, Nicole Funk, Ty Funk, her sister Francoise Raby, brothers Guy (Collette) Leblanc, Denis Leblanc, several nieces and nephews and many special friends whom she considered family.

Julie is predeceased by her husband Sylvio April, parents Charles Leblanc and Marie Merier, sons Paul April and Denis April, sisters Bertha Poulin, Yvette Hudon, Marguerite Godin, Celine Roufoss and brother Bertrand Leblanc.

Julie was a strong, spunky and caring person who was fiercely proud of her family. She was helpful, crafty and willing to try almost anything. She always said she was “Jack of all trades and master of none”. There are so many great memories and stories of Julie (Hugette). She was very special and we will miss her dearly.

Due to restrictions, a family service and celebration of life will be held in the summer.

Donations in memory of Julie may be made to the Stollery Children’s Hospital, Edmonton Alberta.

God saw you getting tired
When a cure was not to be.
So he put his arms around you
And whispered, come with me.
You tried so hard to stay with us
But your fight was all in vain,
God took you in his loving arms,
And freed you from your pain.
If I could have one lifetime wish,
One dream that could come true,
I’d pray to God with all my heart
For yesterday and you.
Our family chain is broken,
And nothing has been the same,
But as God calls us one by one,
The chain will link again.
