Obituary of Beatrice Bertrand

Marie Marguerite “Beatrice” Bertrand passed away peacefully with family by her side on July 6, 2022 at the Poplar Courts Nursing Home In Wilkie, Saskatchewan at the age of 87 years. 

Beatrice was born on December 8, 1934 in Turtleford, Saskatchewan. She grew up on the farm south of Paradise Hill all her life. After completing school, she worked as a supervising teacher in the Butte St. Pierre School, even teaching some of her siblings. 

On July 25, 1955 she married the love her life, Claude in Butte St. Pierre. Together they farmed and ranched at the River Hill Ranch. Beatrice had a love for gardening, knitting, and baking which was much of her life until late into her 70’s. She was a member of the Farmers Market for 30 years. Numerous items of her knitting have been sent all over the world. 

Beatrice was predeceased by: her husband, Claude Bertrand; sisters, Denise and Barbara Anne; brothers, Paul and Rolland; and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. 

Beatrice leaves to mourn: her daughter, Gisele (Larry) Bannerman and children, Dana (Brandon) Liivam and Andrew; son, Michel (Debbie) Bertrand and children, Jackie (Jarrett) Hollman and Jeremy; son, Paul (Holly) Bertrand and Lyn; daughter, Jocelyn (Daryle) Redlick and their daughters, Kirstie (Regan) McGrath and Brittney (Ryan); brother, Tony (Madeleine) Brassard; sisters, Charlotte (Ken) Thompson, Louise Premak and Denis (Linda) Brassard; brother-in-law, Frank (Frances) Bielecki; and numerous nieces and nephews.  

The Prayer Vigil will be conducted from Our Lady Of Sorrows Roman Catholic Church, Paradise Hill, Saskatchewan on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at 7:00 PM.

The Funeral Service for Beatrice will be conducted from Our Lady Of Sorrows Roman Catholic Church, Paradise Hill, Saskatchewan on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at 11:00 AM. If you are unable to attend in person, you may view the live streaming of the service which will be posted on McCaw Funeral Service website under Beatrice's obituary at the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Beatrice may be made to Poplar Courts Nursing Home - Activity Fund - Box 459, Wilkie, SK S0K 4W0.
