Obituary of Sharon Mockford

Please share a memory of Sharon to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Sharon Mockford (née Tolley) on the 20th of August 2022. Following her diagnosis of cancer in December of 2021, Sharon - with the support of her friends, family, and sister-in-law, Marlene Woronowski, for all her appointments - staunchly fought the disease until her passing at the age of 80 in Turtleford, Saskatchewan.

Sharon was born on the first of June 1942 in Shellbrook to Chester and Phyllis Tolley. She grew up in Prince Albert and completed her Registered Nursing Assistant program in 1963 in Saskatoon. She enjoyed 35 years working as an optical technician at the Saskatoon Community Clinic. During this time, Sharon and her beloved husband Ken Mockford enjoyed being out on the lake, skiing, and snowmobiling. Following her retirement in 2001, Sharon moved to Brightsand Lake where she spent her time serving on the Turtleford Hospital Auxiliary Board and the Evergreen Beach Hamlet Board, perfecting her dream lakefront home, and visiting with friends and family on her back deck in the summertime.

Sharon is survived by her children: Michael (Denise) Loraas and Steven (Cherie Thompson) Loraas; and grandchildren Ashley Thompson, Brooklyn Thompson, Thomas Loraas, and Andrianna Loraas.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, September 4th at 2:00pm at the Turtleford Community Centre. The dress code is casual.

Donations in memory of Sharon can be made to the Turtleford Hospital Auxiliary at Turtleford Auxiliary Inc P.O. Box 678 Turtleford, SK S0M 2Y0 or the Community Clinic Foundation in Saskatoon.
