Obituary of Georgina "George" Humphrey
Georgina “George” Marie Humphrey was a caring mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She left this world unexpectedly on September 3, 2022 at the age of 64 years. Her battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed her courage in facing life challenges with a smile. Despite the pain, George came out a hero and stayed strong until the end.
George is survived by: her children, Kathleen (Doug) Rappel, Stephan Dafoe and Loretta (Dwayne) Neil; her precious grandchildren, Alexandra, Gabrial and Cassidy Rappel, Bentley, Nixon and Kellar Neil; she is also survived by: her siblings, Ellen (Brian) Schmidt, Richard (Kimberly) Cundliffe, Dean (Charlyn) Cundliffe and Ian (Denise) Blair; as well as many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
George was predeceased by: her parents, Cal Cundliffe and Eileen Blair; and sister, Patricia Wilson.
George's family was everything to her and there was no place she’d rather be than in the kitchen preparing delicious food for her loved ones. She loved baking muffins and cookies with her grand babies, with flour covering their noses and countertops. All the best adventures happened at Grandma’s House. She would spend her summers carefully caring for and tending to her garden and flowers and searching garden centers for just the right plants.
Canning with her sister, Ellen and their many mischievous adventures always brought a smile to her face. Having coffee with her dear friends, volunteering with the Lions Club of Lloydminster and spoiling her dogs, were high on her list of favourite things to do.
George put up an incredible fight against cancer… three wins…none of us saw this coming.
We will miss you everyday… for all our days. Always and forever babe.
A Celebration of George's Life will be held at the Moose Lodge (5213 57 street), Lloydminster, Alberta on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at 1:00 PM.
Her family asks that those who are able and would like to bring a special dish or dessert with serving utensils to share with everyone as we celebrate her love for all things cooking.
Donations in her memory can be made to Lori Craven Memorial or Lloydminster Lions Club.
